TIMING & DELIVERY
The time taken depends upon the number of commissions I am working on at the time. I can occasionally fit in a last minute portrait so it's worth asking.
Turn around time is approximately 2-3 weeks for a single pet portrait. If there are multiple images in your portrait, delivery time may be a little longer. I will advise you if this is the case when ordering. Please book early for Christmas/Chanukah to avoid disappointment.
1. BOOKING AND WAITING LIST
For reserving a place on the list simply press the “Book Your Portrait” button below and get in touch. I would love to hear any ideas which you have for your portrait however creative they may be!
2. PAYMENT PROCESS
A 50% deposit upfront is necessary for booking your place in my book. The deposit is non refundable as you are booking a space in my calendar that could be used by someone else. After booking, you can provide me with the photos and description necessary for the creation of the portrait. When your turn in the list arrives I will present you with a mock up of your portrait so you get an idea of how the original will look. When you confirm the mock up you can pay the remaining balance. After this I will proceed to create the original. I accept payment via PayPal, Card, Venmo, or Applepay.
3. PHOTO REFERENCES & PERSONALITY
After you have paid your deposit, I will need some photos of the subject you wish to have a portrait of, this could be a dog, cat, a horse, a person, a bird, etc. or a combination. Having different photos from different perspectives will help tremendously to get an idea of how the subject looks. (See the section “Photo Tips.”) High quality photos are appreciated, but not absolutely necessary, I have worked using low quality photos many times. If you don’t have multiple photos of the subject, or you are not sure of what to send just send what you have and I will find a way to work with the photos which you provide. I will also need a description of the subject, something about their personality, story, anything you wish to share with me.
4. MOCK UP CREATION
When your turn in the list arrives, I will create a mock up using the photos you provided. I will also propose several diff ent background colors for you to choose from. This way you can choose the one that will fit better with your home decor or the one that will suit your subject better.
5. CREATION OF THE ORIGINAL
When we have confirmed the desired mock up is in time for me to concentrate in the original. If you’ve booked your place for, let’s say, August-September that means the original portrait will be started, finished and shipped in that time frame. Keep in mind some portraits could take a longer than expected. Art is a very subjective matter and at times can be difficult to calculate exactly how long one piece will take me. This is why I prefer to give 2 months deadlines and if I finish earlier is great. I will be in touch sending weekly updates.
6. SHIPPING
After confirmation that you are happy with your portrait I will proceed to ship it. The portrait is sent extremely well packaged and protected. I take great care and attention. My packaging process. My portraits arrive beautifully wrapped accompanied by a box Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated both in the certification and in the painting.
At the moment I find USPS Priority mail to be an excellent way to ship within the United States and UPS Air to ship internationally. I have been using them for the past several years and I have never had any issues. They are very reliabl. The cost of shipping will be determined by your United States zip code or your country’s Postal Code. Your portrait will have its own tracking number. For US and Europe it takes approximately 2-4 days. For Canada and Asia it takes approximatell 4-6 days. For South America and Australia it takes approximately 6-8 days..
